Learning About Numbers 1-9
Counting Objects:
Counting helps us know how many things we have. We count from 1 to 9:

| 8 | Eight | 8 legs of a spider, 8 planets |

Comparing Numbers:
We compare numbers to see which is greater, smaller, or equal:
- Greater than (>) - A number that is larger
- Smaller than (<) - A number that is smaller
- Equal to (=) - Numbers that are the same
Example: 5 > 3 (5 is greater than 3), 2 < 7 (2 is smaller than 7), 4 = 4 (4 is equal to 4)
Number Patterns:
Numbers follow patterns. Each number is one more than the previous number:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
This pattern helps us count forward and backward!
