Seed Sprouting Under Different Conditions

Observe how different environmental conditions affect seed germination and plant growth. Compare growth with sunlight and water, water only, and no water or sunlight.

Observation:

This experiment compares seed germination under three different conditions. Click "Start Experiment" to begin.

Germination Requirements

Optimal Conditions (Left):

Seeds need water, oxygen, and suitable temperature to germinate. Sunlight helps the seedling grow after emergence.

Water Only (Middle):

While water is essential for germination, without sunlight, the seedling will become etiolated (long and pale) as it searches for light.

No Water/Sunlight (Right):

Without water, the seed cannot activate metabolic processes needed for germination. The seed remains dormant.
