Quadrat Sampling Method

1. Random Sampling:

Ecologists use randomly placed quadrats to avoid bias when estimating population sizes in large areas.

2. Population Density:

Calculated as: (Total counted / Number of quadrats) × (Total area / Quadrat area). This estimates organisms per unit area.

3. Species Distribution:

Different distribution patterns (random, uniform, clustered) affect sampling accuracy and required sample size.
