Microscope Slide Preparation Steps

Blood Smear Preparation:
  1. Clean the slide with alcohol
  2. Place a small drop of blood near one end
  3. Use a spreader slide at 30-45° angle to create a thin film
  4. Air dry the smear
  5. Apply stain (e.g., Wright's stain)
  6. Add cover slip and examine under microscope
Epidermal Cell Preparation:
  1. Clean the slide
  2. Gently scrape inside of cheek with a toothpick
  3. Spread the sample on the slide
  4. Fix with methanol or heat
  5. Stain with methylene blue
  6. Add cover slip and examine
